The Catholic parish church of St. Michael is dedicated to the Archangel Michael and is located in the district ofzimmer of the municipality of Tann (Dr.-Eichinger-Straße 5). The original patron of the church was St. Georg, but this is only mentioned once in a document from the Archdiocese of Salzburg from 1318. Between 1541 and 1700 St. Vitus as the patron saint of the church and, consequently, Zimmer was always called St. Vitus' church. In 1693 the archangel Michael was placed as the central image on the high altar and in the Salzburg documents the archangels Michael and St. Vitus are named together as patrons. In the books of 1645 and 1679, only the Archangel Michael is listed as patron of the church, but the patronage was always held on St. Vitus Day.
