During the Swedish wars in the 17th century, an image of the Virgin Mary was destroyed in this area. A shepherd found the image and placed it in a hollow pear tree. Since miracle healings are said to have happened to this pear tree, pilgrimages to this place began. The pilgrimage church looks almost a bit orthodox from the outside, but at the latest inside the exuberant baroque style becomes visible.
