The town hall in Idstein was built in 1698: It has an ideal location, because behind the building runs a rocky outcrop, on which stands the old castle. After being destroyed by a landslide on 14. 2. 1928 it was rebuilt in the years 1932-1934. On 8 November 1947, a fire destroyed the town hall - destroyed primarily the sophisticated equipment of the hall and mayor's room, as well as parts of the staircase. In 1997, basic redevelopment measures were carried out on the ground floor (redesign of the foyer and establishment of a civil office). In addition, the roof rider and the installation of the carillon were renewed on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the town hall.
