Tips

The foal house is a walk-in cave and is located close to the Lone between Langenau, Bernstadt and Neenstetten in the Alb-Donau-Kreis. The name of the cave is the arrangement of the two cave-mouths in a nearly 20 -meter-high rock, with a little imagination imagines a foal.

In front of these two small caves there is a refuge and a barbecue area, which makes the place perfect for a break in the countryside. Incidentally, this rock formation has the name foal house because it looks like a foal when looked at more closely.

The foal house is a rock formation that from a distance looks like a foal and contains a cave. Next to it is a barbecue with hut where you can take a break.

The foal house is one of the 4 caves in the Lone Valley that were inhabited by humans in the Stone Age. Together with the Bockstein Cave and the Hohlen Stein it is freely accessible and parts of it can also be entered. Only the Vogelherd cave, as part of the Archäopark, is chargeable.

Very nice round with many highlights. The path is well-marked and can be used with any bike. Rather less for the freaks but more for the connoisseurs.

From there, there is a nice overview of the valley and the Fohlenhaus barbecue area via the trail (uphill) to the top of the rock

Wonderful mood at dusk, when the strollers are already gone. However, be careful: wild boar hunters!
