In 1880, the Hamburg entrepreneur (head of the gas works) Carl Hermann Theodor Haase, whom Kaiser Wilhelm II raised to hereditary nobility in 1889, acquired the 223 ha Gut Wiebendorf. At that time, owning a country estate was a worthwhile goal for wealthy Hamburg entrepreneurs. In Wiebendorf, Haase immediately started to build a completely new estate.
The first thing he did was to have some residential and farm buildings built, and with it the simple estate workers' houses on Langen Strasse in Wiebendorf.
The listed buildings today all look the same and form an impressive, uniform picture.
