In a small forest near Darup is the "forest chapel", inside of which is a miraculous, adorable, life-size crucifix made of sandstone on the tree cross, created by the sculptor (Wilhelm Heinrich) Kocks in 1718.
The chapel is located in the middle of the forest on Daruper Berg between the old country road Coesfeld-Münster (Postweg) and the federal road 525. The cross stands on an altar (calvary) and looks like a mighty tree.nottuln.de/tourismus/ein-kleiner-streifzug-durch-darups-geschichte/die-waldkapelle.html

It is a little joy that a rope hangs in the church with which you can ring a small bell. This should certainly not be overstimulated for the environment, but it is nice to ring once. Who knows, maybe someone hears the thought because you have it with you. Or someone remembers: Oh yes, I could go to the chapel again.

Nicely located and easy to reach on foot from Darup through the unpaved ravine.
