This is the highest point that can be climbed in the Elm. You can also get there by bike.

The Eilumer Horn near Erkerode in the Lower Saxony district of Wolfenbüttel is 323.3 m above sea level. NHN [1] [2] the highest point in the Elm ridge. Its name comes from the "line of sight" of the Horn, namely to the village of Eilum on the western edge of the Elm.
The shape of the Eilumer Horn differs slightly from the other elevations in the Elm. Above all, it is steeper. On the summit there is a metal summit cross and a summit book, as well as an information board on the historical background. The elevation was usually only mentioned on maps as Kuxberg, but this is only its northern foothills.

The height of the 323.3 m high Eilumer Horn is sometimes given as 322, 323 or 325 m, but sometimes the name Kuxberg can be read there. Other values such as 316.7 m and 318.6 m relate to the heights of forest path points. On some maps, however, the Drachenberg can be seen as the highest elevation in the Elm, but it only reaches a height of around 313 m.
In the past, the Kuxberg was noted on many hiking maps as the highest peak in the Elm. Four members of the Schöppenstedter Alpenverein measured the position of the highest point in the Elm again in 1989: They found out that the Eilumer Horn must be the highest point a few hundred meters from the Kuxberg. The Land Surveying Office of Lower Saxony confirmed this information; since then the Horn has been marked as the highest peak in some newer hiking maps.
