Well the Gugelturm is definitely worth a visit. Here you can look at the tower and around the Black Forest to deep into Switzerland. Provided the weather allows it. Of course you also have the opportunity to rest and to barbecue here. Take the Gugelturm as a goal or at least as a waypoint in your planning.

Around Engelschwand and the Gugelturm you will find many beautiful trails and paths. Some of them are quite steep and violent. Who wants to let it go well to fill the tank certainly finds something suitable. Even with a large group we found here a very good point of contact.

The Gugelturm, jokingly also called the new Hotz, is a viewing tower on the Gugel (998 m) in the municipality of Herrischried in the Hotzenwald. The building, which was built between 1971 and 1974 by the Black Forest Association, replaced a bell-shaped predecessor from 1929/1930. With its impressive height of 30.5 m, it towers into the Hotzenwald sky. As soon as you climb the 90 steps up a spiral staircase to the viewing platform, the view encompasses the southern Black Forest with the Hotzenwald, the Randen, the Upper Rhine Valley and the Swiss Jura. When the visibility is good, you can see the Vosges and the Swiss Alps.
