Riedensee Beach

Here at the western end of Kühlungsborn, a wildly romantic dune landscape begins with an unguarded bathing beach. The beach is located directly on the Riedensee nature reserve.
Easiest to reach by bike or on foot. Since the access is blocked for vehicles, parking spaces are not available, it takes some time to get to the bathing areas. The beach area also leads to two viewing platforms at Riedensee. This natural beach is a small highlight just for hiking and relaxing. Here you can experience great sunsets and watch water birds. This area of the beach had been a restricted military area since 1935 and was only demilitarized and reopened for civil use after reunification.

From here you can get to the beach on the last beach path 28. Then the dune landscape begins, which is closed to protect nature from this year.

A few minutes west of the beach promenade in Kühlungsborn is a wonderful stretch of beach 😎👍
