The covered bridge right next to the waterfall spans the whizzing ditch on the toll road between Wallgau and Vorderriß. The 32 meter long, heavy-duty wooden bridge, completed in the summer of 2011, was built on the foundations of a previous structure. The bridge was planned by the engineering office Achmüller / Dr. Hartmann, it was built by the carpentry Josef Danner from Jachenau. <baysf.de/de/medienraum/pressemitteilungen/message/detail/heimisches-holz-fuehrt-ueber-den-sausenden-graben.html>

The bridge is one of the few heavy-duty wooden bridges in Germany. Certainly strong enough for the average cyclist 🚴🏻♂️! 😉 With a total length of 32 meters, it is a spectacular structure. A complete "enclosure" protects the construction made of spruce and larch against the elements. Only local wood was used, even the road surface is made of larch and the roof of the enclosure is covered with oak shingles.
From the bridge you can enjoy a beautiful view of the waterfall.

A good opportunity to protect yourself from the rain, especially when it's raining heavily
