Zuckerberg Castle in Kappelrodeck
The Zuckerberg Castle is a romantic castle in Kappelrodeck in a spacious park with magnificent trees and was built by the quarry owner Julius Leuther in 1889. After the occupation of Kappelrodeck by French troops in May 1945, the Zuckerberg Castle was converted into a magnificent residence for General Dromard and was even used as a casino for the French armed forces until 1947. In the late 1960s, the community of Kappelrodeck acquired the castle and grounds. The property received the name "Zuckerbergschloss" from the field name Zuckerberg. The property has been used for gastronomy since 1982. In 1989 the music pavilion was set up in the park. In addition to the gastronomy, the Schlössle is often used as a backdrop and venue for weddings. In the months of June to September, concerts take place in the music pavilion on mild summer nights.
