In Olingen, at the entrance to the forest at the place called "Kiem", the last wolf of the Grand Duchy was shot by a Mr. Eduard Wolff on April 24, 1893.
At said place there is a memorial plaque, unfortunately a mistake has crept in with the year, there the year 1892 is noted.

"The last wolf in the Grand Duchy, for which a premium was collected, was killed in a drive on April 24, 1893, at the place called Kiem, at the entrance to the Olingen woods, by Eduard Wolff." (aus dem Buch "Histoire des loups dans les deux Luxembourg" von Marie-Hélène Delguste-Van der Kaa, ed. 2003.
