The Schlegeis Reservoir is an impressive high-altitude reservoir in the Zillertal Alps. It lies at approximately 1,800 meters above sea level and is surrounded by imposing three-thousand-meter peaks such as the Grosser Möseler and the Hochfeiler. The turquoise-colored lake stretches over a length of approximately 4 kilometers and is enclosed by a mighty dam wall, which, at over 130 meters high, is one of the largest in Europe.

The Schlegeis Reservoir is not only part of a major hydroelectric power plant but also a popular destination for cyclists. The panoramic trail leads from Mayrhofen to the lake – ideal for an adventurous journey by bike.
