Paupitzsch is a modern desert that was located north of Delitzsch on the border of Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt and, together with the Neuhaus manor, fell victim to brown coal mining by the Goitzsche opencast mine in 1976. Today only the Paupitzscher See is a reminder of the former village and the Neuhäuser See of the former manor.
