The Löwenburg is a built in 1793 pleasure palace in Kassel Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe.The castle, built as an artificial castle ruin, stands above the Wilhelmshöhe Castle in the southern part of the Bergpark and thus south of the visual axis Schloss Wilhelmshöhe-Herkules at about 350 m above sea level. NN on the eastern edge of the Hoher Habichtswald. The Löwenburg served its builder landgrave Wilhelm IX. from Hesse-Kasselal private retreat and 1821 also its burial place. In terms of art history, the facility is considered groundbreaking, as one of the first important buildings of the Gothic Revival in Germany.Source: Wikipedia

The castle, modeled on a hilltop castle, was designed by Heinrich Christoph Jussow between 1793 and 1801. Arriving on good paths, you can look around here and, if necessary, drive or walk to Hercules.
