Many people only know the word Soave in connection with wine, which is generally true, but there is more! The wine route on which the small town is located was founded in 1999 and includes 13 communities.
It is approximately 50 km long and runs at the eastern end of the province of Verona. With 24 D.O.C. growing regions, Veneto is the leader in Italy and it's hard to know where to start.
with around 7,000 inhabitants - is framed by a completely preserved city wall with 24 towers. And no matter which direction you come from - the Scaliger Castle on the hill above the city is unmissable, right in the middle of the vineyards
People settled here as early as the Stone Age and the Romans built a fortress to protect their rural districts. Today's city center was built under the Lombards and is therefore over 1,450 years old. Emperor Frederick I, known as Barbarossa (the one with the red beard), mentioned Soave as early as the Middle Ages around 1,200.
