Riedersbach I was built between 1967 and 1969 and Riedersbach II from 1981 to 1986. The chimney is 191 m high. Both power plants were originally designed to operate with SAKOG lignite. The power plants have been shut down for years and have become industrial monuments. The high tower of Riedersbach II is a landmark of the area far into Bavaria. Steel art is exhibited on the site and along the street.
Getting there is easy with the Salzburg Local Railway from Salzburg. The Salzach / Inn Cycle Path is more than recommendable there and back or back!
