In 1710 a new church was built in Grembergen (Dendermonde) on the current Dokter Haekstraat. In 1846 the church building was expanded with two side aisles. The church, built in brick with sandstone elements, has a symmetrically elaborated façade with a gable and triangular pediment, and a free-standing square bell tower. The interior of the church is harmoniously built and contains high-quality furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries. Also noteworthy are two 20th century stained glass windows designed by Eugeen Yoors. The church organ dates from 1860-1870 and is attributed to organ builder P.J. Vereecken from Gijzegem. The organ was listed as a monument in 1981. In 2003 the protection was extended to the entire church building.
