The lookout tower on the Mottener Haube is just on Bavarian soil, near the border with Hesse.

"A few meters east of the summit of the wooded Great Hood, i.e. on Bavarian soil, a 23.8 m[2] high observation tower was rebuilt in 2004 and 2005, which offers a comprehensive overview: Milseburg, Wasserkuppe can be seen in an arc from northeast to south , Dammersfeldkuppe, Kreuzberg, Großer and Kleinen Auersberg as well as the Dreistelzberg. In the southwest the Spessart spreads out. When the weather is very clear you can see the Taunus in the west, the Vogelsberg in the northwest and the Knüllgebirge in the north."translated by
