Kuhsiel can be reached wonderfully from all directions of the block country - no matter whether direction from direction Lilienthal, Ritterhude or city center. Thus, a nice onward journey is guaranteed. The environment is one of the most beautiful cycling routes in Bremen!

About Kuhsiel brought barges since the Middle Ages, grain and livestock from Lilienthal and Borgfeld of the Wümme in the cow trench and continue past the Munte and the Bürgerpark along to the Dobben. The boatmen pulled their boats over the Wümmedeich. As the trade in peat increased, in the 19th century the first lock was built in Kuhsiel, which has meanwhile replaced a new one. Today, around 3,500 pleasure boats pass through here every year. The two lifting gates of the lock have small closable openings through which water at high tide can flow into the cow trench.

Nature reserve western Hollerland, here you cycle with the wind, or against the same, at least super nature here, you can look far over the country. On Sundays and public holidays all Bremeners seem to be here.
