The Palthetoren is part of the De Sprengenberg estate. A beautiful villa with an even more beautiful nature reserve. The white turret used to be a star observatory. During the Second World War, the Germans had set up a command post there.

The view of the tower becomes even more beautiful when the heather is in bloom. The purple with green and then the white tower, highly recommended.

When the route exits the forest, I look straight at the beautiful white house on the hill. The house with the tower: Huis De Sprengenberg, also known as the Palthetoren.

This villa was built in 1903 by order of the then owner Van Wulfften Palthe. The turret that rises above the trees was a star observatory. Incidentally, there was little forest in the wider area at that time; it was mostly heather. That is why the wind vane is a korhaan. The building is still in use and is owned by Stichting Huis Bergh.
