The watershed is a line in the terrain that forms a boundary where the streams flow into different rivers, lakes or seas. Here the border between Weser and Elbe.

Easy to reach stamping point if you start hiking directly from Steina. A short, crisp ascent has to be mastered at the end, but not a particularly big hurdle.

From Steina, a stamping point that can be reached easily and quickly. Along the small reservoir, there is a short section, a little steeper, up to the ridge. There you can reach the Weser / Elbe watershed. There is also a refuge on site.

From the parking lot “Wiesenbeker Teich” (24h for 1.5 EUR) it is approx. 1.5 km to the watershed (Weser / Elbe) 'Hohe Tür'. There is a refuge here, a few benches and stamp number 43 for the Harz hiking pin. The interesting ridge path up to the Quitschenkopf and on to the Hassenstein stamp station (No. 158 of the HWN) begins directly behind the stamping point.
