Tentsmuir Forest sprawls 5 square miles (13 sq km) along the coast. Numerous trails lead in between the pines and sand dunes.

The forest is home to beautiful nature and also plenty of history. There are lots of concrete blocks along the shoreline, known as 'Dragon's Teeth'. They were built as coastal defences during the Second World War. A 19th-century ice house is also located in the forest. It would have been used to store salmon, but now serves as a roost for bats instead.
