Kies Canal

Gravel for building in Berlin was extracted from today's Kiessee. It was transported by ship to Berlin across the gravel canal and the lakes.

This bridge, financed among other things by donations, was built in 2005 and leads over the connecting ditch (gravel ditch) between Kiessee and Möllensee. This is how a connection was established between the "Mölle Süd" campsite on the Möllensee and the "Kagel" campsite on the Kiessee.

At that time there was still a real bridge here (which I can even remember) and not a covered tube like the new gravel canal bridge built in 2005. But that seemed to be due to the tight municipal coffers. But you have to be happy that there is a bridge at all again. So thanks to all sponsors 👍.
