The first mention of a brewery in this spot dates back to 1604, the current name was given around 1970, when they acquired the legendary À la Mort Subite café in Brussels.Best known for their lambiek (lambic), geuze and fruit beers. The use of aged hops in the former make for a very sour, dry and cider-like taste. Because of its carbonation, gueuze is also jokingly called Brussels Champagne.
