The count, who was always happy to invite guests to his Pfullingen hunting lodge, once went hunting with his entourage in the deep forests of the Pfullingen district. The whole hunting party was back at the agreed meeting point at dusk, only one was missing: the count! He had completely lost his bearings and had to spend the night in the dark forest. In need he lay down on a place covered with moss and fell asleep exhausted. When he was safely found by his entourage in the early morning, he enthusiastically said that he had "slept wonderfully, like a pillow, a pillow." Since that time, legends say that Pfullingen had a pillow pillow as Coat of arms. The Pfulben coat of arms is actually one of the oldest in all of Württemberg. It first depended on a document for the Pfullingen convent in 1501. The local colors are blue-white-red and come from the coat of arms of the former local owner Caspar Remp. The deer antlers over the Pfulben symbolize the then sovereignty of Württemberg over the place. At the same time, the Pfullinger coat of arms probably indicates an important medieval market right on the local market square: there used to be a feather market there.
