Smelte Botanical Reserve - 1988 A botanical reserve has been established on the Smelte Peninsula (Klaipėda City Territory) to preserve rare communities of halophilic plants.Place
The reserve is located in an industrialized area extending along the eastern boundary of the peninsula. [1] The southern edge is bordered by the Container Terminal area. A small northern part of the sanctuary (about 300 m long and 15 m wide) lies within the International Ferry Terminal. The western boundary is on Perkelos Street, the eastern border is on the coast of the Gulf of Malku. The length of the coastline along the Gulf of Wood is 1534 m, the length of the coastline intact by industrialization is 1162 m. The area of the reserve - 2.8 ha.
