The Otto tunnel is located in the Horhausen district between the towns of Niedersteinebach and Luchert. The name is derived from the former Prussian Prime Minister Prince Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898), through whose influence it became possible for the Krupp company on March 24, 1865 to open the three pits Georg (Willroth), Friedrich-Wilhelm (Horhausen) and Louise (Bürdenbach) available for purchase. In gratitude, the gallery was given the name "Otto-Stollen", which is still known today ...
