Sinninger Mill with Fire Station

The Sinninger Mill is one of three remaining Dutch windmills in the Steinfurt district. Originally used for the production of baking and animal feed, the mill now serves as a fire station and also houses an exhibition on the history of Saerbeck's wind and water mills. The 22-meter-high mill was built around 1866 by miller Theodor Eilers. Over time, he continually adapted the mill's technology to suit the times, from wind power to motor power and then to electric drive. It was listed as a historic monument in 1996 and extensively renovated in 2001.
