Mountain Biking Highlight
The observation tower on the 549 meter high Wolfstein above the bank of the Saale offers a wonderful view of the Höllental, the Lichtenberg castle ruins and the Saale valley and Blankenberg. It can be reached on foot via various hiking trails. The company founder Anton Wiede, like so much in this area, also had the 18.5 m high observation tower built. The tower is freely accessible, the viewing platform is 15m high. frankenwald-tourismus.de/de/poi/detail/595260c3975aaf0aba5a1fb1

From the 15 meter high viewing platform you have a wonderful view over the Höllental, over to the castle ruins Lichtenberg and over the Saaletal and Blankenberg into Thuringia.
The tower was built in 1903 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Wiede's paper mill Rosenthal in Blankenstein by company founder Anton Wiede "to admire the factories and the surrounding area".
