There are wonderful ways to explore here, either narrow single trails or gravel paths. Here you can let off steam in idyllic nature. Only the everlasting background noise of the nearby A3 freeway breaks this idyll somewhat.

The nature reserve "Bromberg - Rosengarten" is a former quarry of ecological as well as local and cultural history. It was protected on September 2, 1981 with 31 hectares and expanded on February 1, 2000 to its current size. On an area of 35 , 49 hectares in the urban area and 1.27 hectares in the district of Würzburg, the protected area represents a small-scale habitat of the Middle Main Valley with its typical variety of heat-loving plant and animal species. There are numerous heat-sensitive areas on rock walls, stone piles (stone blocks), gravel areas and old walls Insects such as butterflies (especially Esparsetten-Aries, dwarf blue-eared, Kronwicken-Bläuling) and reptiles such as sand lizard or smooth snake.

The nature reserve is crisscrossed by a square limestone bank of the Upper Muschelkalk, which was important in Lower Franconia and was of considerable economic importance in earlier times. The Old Main Bridge was also built with this ashlar. [1] Today, the ashlar blocks distributed over the entire area have an important meaning for moss and lichen communities.

After the historical forms of use have disappeared, this leads to increased bushing. Maintenance measures are therefore carried out regularly, with particular emphasis on sheep grazing.
