Until it was decommissioned, the railway line led over the Tscherlich Bridge to the upper station in Zeulenroda.

As a result of the construction of the railway line between Weida and Mehlteuer, the opening of which was celebrated on November 15, 1883, the construction of a branch line to the urban area of Zeulenroda was tackled in 1913. The only major construction project along the route was a bridge over the Triebestal: the Tscherlichbrücke, named after a group of houses that were nearby. The bridge was built in 7 large concrete arches by the company Johann Odorico, Dresden. It is 120 m long, 13 m high and 6 m wide. It leads in a slight curve over a cut in the Triebestal. In 1974, passenger traffic on this 3.6 km long route was discontinued. On September 23, 1991, passenger traffic was resumed and of course the bridge was used again. Unfortunately, passenger traffic was no longer very popular, so it was finally discontinued after 5 years and the line was closed on March 30, 1999.Today, only this beautiful bridge in the Triebestal bears witness to the former branch line to Zeulenroda-Stadt, which is definitely worth a visit.

A nice bridge, with a great echo, unfortunately, the path stops short behind.
