The work of art "FÄHRMANN" on the Rhine promenade in Emmerich was created in 1983. The sculptor Dieter von Levetzow, from Kranenburg, has reproduced the river crossings by boat, which were once so common for the Lower Rhine, in this sculpture in an expressive and artistic way. Emmerich was once a town without a bridge over the Rhine.
