One of the most beautiful high-altitude trails in the Montafon begins at the mountain station of the Versettla cable car. From the mountain station, it is quite steep to the mountain station of the Burglift and from there through boulders to Versettla, the first beautiful vantage point. The route continues along the Matschuner Gratweg, almost flat at first, then over a steep step to the summit cross of the Madrisella. There is a magnificent view there. Along the ridge you can see the long Garneratal with the Tübinger Hütte at the end of the cirque, directly under the Plattenspitzen.

Descending from the Madrisella, you go back to the Matschunerjoch, where you turn right (north) into the Novatal. A slightly steeper descent on stony ground leads to the small Seressee and later on a wide hiking trail to Alpe Nova (1,736 m). From here you can reach the Garfrescha cable car mountain station in about half an hour and take the chairlift into the valley to St. Gallenkirch.
