This natural monument was removed from agricultural use in the 1930s and placed under protection. From 1993, permanent observation points were set up and maintenance measures were taken to preserve the heathland. Here, among other things, Column junipers and various hat beeches.

The view of the Gladenbacher Bergland and south to the Dünsberg is worthwhile.
