Hesselberg Summit and Panoramic Viewpoint

Not far from the radio mast is the summit cross at the highest point of the Hesselberg. In addition to a wonderful view, there are also information boards about the mountain, the surrounding area and the Limes.

The view is worth the walk up! From several vantage points you can enjoy the view of Wassertrüdingen, Ehingen, Aufkirchen and the surrounding area. There is even a designated view of the Limes. In special weather conditions you can even see as far as the Alps.

At 689m, the Hesselberg is also the highest elevation in Middle Franconia and towers over its surroundings by more than 200 metres. The Hesselberg nature reserve was rightly awarded the "Bavaria's most beautiful geotopes" seal of approval and is one of the destinations for "Bavaria - explorers". It is one of the "Holy Mountains of Franconia".
