Magnificent views of Honau, Unterhausen and the Alb. The physical well-being is also taken care of. In the castle restaurant and in the small beer garden at the climbing park, there is delicious food at moderate prices. The climbing garden is always well attended during the holiday season, even by larger groups.

The first Lichtenstein Castle was built on its current location in 1100-1150.

A beautiful, romantic castle with a great view over the valley.

Particularly interesting for children who are at an age when fairy tales with kings and princesses are read to them.

Lichtenstein Castle is simply breathtaking. It is hard to believe that the castle was really so daring built close to the abyss on a steep rock. It is definitely worth coming up here, even if you only look at the castle from the outside. If you would like to visit it, you should first check the website for the opening hours: schloss-lichtenstein.de/de.

Very nice ambience, but totally overcrowded when the weather is nice and on Sundays!

If you want to go in you have to pay admission. For a quick look it was not worth it. But on occasion I take the time and look at me from the inside. 🙂

Well-known fairytale castle, which was not built in the Middle Ages - but at the end of the 19th century: a bit of "Neuschwanstein für Arme" ... ;-)

Great castle in a great location. Very well-kept area around the castle. Great view on all sides. Can also be visited.
