With a gorgeous Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) taking up much of the county, cycling in Surrey is one of the best ways to discover everything the area has to offer. Lying to the south west of London, this is a wonderfully green region with swathes of rural countryside to explore on quiet lanes. The Surrey Hills AONB features vibrant woodlands, fantastic winding roads and epic viewpoints, making any climbs you undertake more than worthwhile. 


There are plenty of family-friendly cycle routes in Surrey’s green landscape, from canal towpaths to trails around lakes like Virginia Water. There are also stretches of traffic-free cycle trails and a vast network of lightly-trafficked lanes, allowing you to pedal far and wide away from the hubbub. Nature reserves, downland, woodlands, rivers, and old manors combine to create a truly charming region. No matter where you ride, cafes and pubs are never far.
