The cave was explored in 1940 when shelters were needed during world war II. 1.100 meters can be visited. Mean temperature is about 18° C. The tour is an unforgettable expierence!

Just after the cavern, do not go down to the river (deadlock). It is not really well indicated but you'll find a rope, which you need to take. Then, you'll find again the red/white signs.

This monastery is called "Kipinas". You can also stay overnight here, you have to register and get the key.

The doline, or rather shaft cave, is up to 150 meters deep and is a particularly striking example of karst landscape forms.

On the cave you can see a grandiose world of "stalactites" and "stalagmites".
A must if you are around.

The village of Perama is well known for its cave with stalactites and stalagmites.
Not far from Ioannena, can only be recommended.
