From time immemorial, the Black Forest has exerted a very special fascination on people. The romantic, hilly landscape with its deep coniferous forests and lush green meadows is not surprisingly one of the most popular hiking regions in Germany.
Those who want to experience the impressive hiking region by bicycle will find the ideal route on the approximately 375-kilometer-long Black Forest Cycle Path between Karlsruhe and Lörrach.
Cycling means getting ahead quickly and yet enjoying nature with all your senses. "Nature experience pure" is therefore the motto on the Black Forest Cycle Path, because on the varied tour you either cycle away from the main traffic roads on well-driveable forest paths or on designated cycle paths on the RadNETZ BW.
Where it is not otherwise possible, less frequented roads are also used.
Originally conceived as a mountain bike variant of the Black Forest Club's Westweg trail, the long-distance cycle route also inspires ambitious touring cyclists or E-bike riders. Fitness is required not only in view of the total length, numerous Black Forest peaks have to be overcome, coming from Karlsruhe a total of 7,200 meters have to be climbed.
Now not everyone wants to cycle hundreds of kilometers. The suggested daily stages do not constitute a recommendation, you can plan individually. The Black Forest Club wishes you an unforgettable cycling experience.
