The Sentier des Abbayes Trappistes (SAT) is one of the most famous themed routes in Wallonia. 290 kilometres long, it links the three Walloon abbeys of Chimay, Rochefort and Orval. The hiking trail crosses the Fagne and the forests of Chimay, the banks of the Meuse then the Famenne and the Ardennes massif.

From Trappist abbey to Trappist abbey, the route offers the possibility of criss-crossing the Walloon paths and discovering the products and heritage of the three Trappist abbeys whose beers are listed by UNESCO.

The route is generally divided into two portions. From Chimay to Rochefort then from Rochefort to Orval. In this Collection, I suggest you complete the first portion in seven stages. From the abbey of Scourmont (Chimay) to that of Saint-Remi at Rochefort, the route has in store for you a multitude of historical, culinary and natural surprises. Entirely waymarked, it can be broken down according to your pace and your desires.

Although the paths are walkable all year round, spring and autumn are probably the two ideal seasons to set off on an adventure.

The Trappist abbeys of Wallonia are revealed along this bucolic route. Experience a timeless adventure discovering an impressive heritage and unique know-how!
