Breathtaking alpine panoramas, winding passes and easygoing flatter sections along Lake Constance: the Lake and Alps Main Route is pure road cycling bliss! On the 540-kilometre (335 mi) route, you’ll experience Eastern Switzerland in all its glory – from historic cities to dreamy lake and mountain scenery and legendary climbs that’ll make your thighs burn.

Collect up to 40 of the 100 Adventure points on the Lake and Alps Main Route! This route is not just an epic road bike tour, but also the key to your success in the legendary Lake and Alps Adventure – the unique season event format for active cyclists. As well as valuable Adventure points, exclusive advantages and rewards await for completing the Main Route.

The journey starts at Gallusplatz in St. Gallen and leads through six cantons: St. Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Thurgau, Schaffhausen and Schwyz. There’s also a short section along the Vorarlberg side of the Rhine – a truly cross-border experience.

While exploring the region’s beauty, there are many sporting, cultural, social and culinary highlights that await. Climbs like the Schwägalp, St. Anton and the Vordere Höhe challenge your legs – and behind every curve awaits a new surprise, whether it’s a breathtaking panorama of the Säntis, a fast descent or a hidden café with homemade specialties.
