With this Collection, you can discover the Ardèche department with a connection to the railway – following former tracks, riding historic locomotives and enjoying beautiful railway lines. We present beautiful multi-day Tours in this magnificent region in south-east France.

The Dolce Via is a classic example of the former railway lines that have been converted into cycle paths in the Ardèche. Bridges and viaducts offer dizzying views into the depths; tunnels offer welcome coolness on sunny days; and sections through the mountains afford breathtaking views.

Another beautiful Tour runs along the famous ViaRhôna cycle route and in the footsteps of the Ardéchoise, a cycle race on winding country roads and over fearsome passes. You’ll pass through the forests and villages that characterise the beautiful Ardèche region, and explore the landscapes of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park, which date back 550 million years.

There's no shortage of culinary delights either. During these Tours, you’ll get to know a department where good food is a top priority. Among other things, it’s the largest producer of chestnuts in France. No matter your level of cycling experience, these Tours enable you to enjoy the Ardèche to the full. Cycle at your own pace and take time for picnics, photos and swimming breaks.

The Tours are also an opportunity to board legendary trains: Le Mastrou, with its steam locomotive, and Le Cévenol. It’s best to book your ticket in advance. There are also bike stations at Lamastre, Saint-Jean-de-Muzol and Boucieu-le-Roi stations, where you’ll find repair kits and charging stations for e-bikes.

A good starting point in the region is the city of Valence with its TGV railway station. From there, regional trains and buses will take you to the starting points of the Tours.
