You start the stage with a nice ride on the shore of Lake Stubenberg. After a small climb you have arrived at the Herberstein zoo. 800 animals from all continents welcome you in the extraordinarily beautiful area. Not far from the animal park you drive past the grounds of the Schielleiten Castle. The magnificent baroque palace houses the oldest and largest federal sports school in Austria. Through a beautiful hilly area you cycle past orchards and sunflower fields and again and again your way leads you through sleepy villages. In Sankt Stefan it is worth stopping by the church. It is over 500 years old and despite its simple face, the original Gothic elements can still be seen well. Not far, then the fourth day stage and thus the short round through the wine country in Eastern Styria is over and you have returned to your starting point in Hartberg. If you still have some time before your departure, a trip to Hartberger Gmoos is worthwhile. It is a highly protected wetland and a refuge for many animals and plants.

The first stage through the Weinland Oststeiermark begins in Hartberg, where you can travel comfortably by train. Before you start, a tour of the historic old town is worthwhile. After you have left the city, you overcome the first hill and land in Sankt Johann, an idyllic village. It continues through the hilly country. The name says it all, because there is always going up and down between the winegrowing villages. In Kleinsteinbach you have mastered all vertical meters of today's stage and shortly afterwards you will reach a special highlight of the top class. In the thermal bath planned by Friedensreich Hundertwasser you can really let your soul dangle in the thermal water between the colorful buildings. It is not far to Fürstenfeld and you still have enough time to explore the city on your own. Interesting is the arrow castle museum, which tells the eventful history of the city. You should definitely not miss the end of the first stage with a glass of wine.

The path through the Kleine Raabklamm leads you from Mitterdorf an der Raab to the Stoffmühle at Kleinsemmering and on to the Gasthof Jägerwirt, which lies at the southern end of the Großer Raabklamm. The easily accessible paths, the lush flora and fauna and an almost idyllic atmosphere make this section of the Raab a unique recreational area for young and old.The Kleine Raabklamm is also an exciting destination for your kids. Along the Raab River there are some places where children can experience nature in their own way on the sandbanks of the shore area and jump into the water.

This hike takes you over alpine pastures and Schwaigen - this is what the alpine pastures are called here in Eastern Styria. And along with the Wetterkoglerhaus, the Rabl Kreuz Hütte and the Kaltwiesenhütte, these are arranged along the circular hiking trail so that you can always stop off in comfort. If you want to divide the tour into several stages, you can spend the night partly in the huts.In addition, the 1,743-meter high Hochwechsel awaits you on the hike with one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Alpenostrand. This round trip is one of the most beautiful in Eastern Styria, as not only the culinary delights on the huts spoil the palate, but also ensure the panoramic views for lasting impressions.
