Wenn die Sonne einlädt und bedauerlicherweise jedoch kein Schnee den Schwarzwald in einen weißen Mantel hüllt, lohnt es sich das sog. Endurance Rennrad Votec VRC rauszuholen und in den Schwarzwald zu radeln. Selbst die B500 war tiefentspannt hoch zu kurbeln. Leider waren die Vittoriareifen aus meinem "Materiallager" doch nicht so widerstandsfähig gegen Scherben... Es hatte gerade noch bis Karlsruhe gereicht, dann war vorne die Luft fast raus. Dies ist mir -ernsthaft jetzt- bei hereinbrechender Dunkelheit neben deren sowieso etwas bockigem Lenkverhaltens zuerst durch den spürbar ansteigenden Leistungsbedarf laut Wattmesser aufgefallen. Aber was ein Glück, wenn man sich diese Auszeit überhaupt nehmen kann... Übrigens kann man das Lost Place Hotel Kurhaus Sand, das seit 2006 geschlossen ist, die Inneneinrichtung aber angeblich nahezu vollständig erhalten sein soll, an Wochenenden nach vorheriger Anmeldung unter 01573 72 999 02 bei Patrick Nöltner besichtigen, so die Info aus dem Netz bzw. eines befreundeten Outdoor-Profis. Dies steht definitiv für 2026 auf der Agenda.

Gerade war ich am höchsten Punkt der Tour angekommen, dann kam er auch schon, der heftige Regen🌧 aus der Rheinebene und zog in den Odenwald. Die 7km Abfahrt ins Hotel Scheid waren ein halber Blindflug mit Gesichtsmassage. Hätten vorher noch Zweifel ob der Freundlichkeit des Hotelchefs bestanden, der das Radteam übernächste Wochenende beherbergen wird, wären diese mit seiner ☕️- Spende UND ☝️ einem riesigen Handtuch zum abtrocknen endgültig passe. Toller Service für einen wohl jämmerlichst aussehenden Rennradler. Aus Respekt vor der Hoteleinrichtung hatte ich es abgelehnt mich zu setzen. Unter der wärmenden Abendsonne konnte ich dann wieder rechtsrheinisch nach Karlsruhe zurück radeln.
