A very beautiful and varied hike, much of which leads through wooded areas – especially pleasant in warmer weather. Unfortunately, the Wacholderhütte is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (as of June 16, 2025), so we had delicious wine and provisions from our backpacks. ;-)

The tour started at the "Traumpfad Höhlen- und Schluchtenweg" hiking car park, above the village of Kell, on Laacher Straße. The first 3 km or so are downhill, through fields and meadows. This can be a bit of a challenge in warmer temperatures – if you're with dogs, be aware that there are no water sources
