Gone, now the beaver rules here. The source is clear as always, but no more waterfalls, no funny stream, but brackish pools, dying trees, boggy ground. A varied little combination tour ... First comfortably on the old towpath (now almost entirely paved) along the Finow Canal - after all the oldest artificial waterway north of the Alps - through 250 years of Prussian industrial history. The old and the new (almost finished) ship lift are always impressive. In the second part of the tour there was also a bit of species-appropriate keeping for the MTB in the woods north of the Oder-Havel Canal (NSG Plagefenn). Oderbruch again - with wonderful winter weather! But it wasn't cold long enough for ice on the Oder.
Let's hope that the theater on the edge can open again soon. And soon there will be a new highlight - by the end of the year, the old Bienenwerder railway bridge is to be restored and opened for pedestrian and bicycle traffic to Poland. Look mer ma!
