The sun lured me onto my bike! Always amazing that you can still discover something new practically on your doorstep ...

We played at the Herthaquelle (right at the beginning of the tour, first 3 pictures) as children, it was so beautiful and adventurous. The brook was dammed and water wheels were built. At the tiny Herthateich there was even an equally tiny artificial waterfall, over which the Herthafließ gushed into the black on its very short way to the mouth ...
Gone, now the beaver rules here. The source is clear as always, but no more waterfalls, no funny stream, but brackish pools, dying trees, boggy ground. Huge beech trees, hundreds of years old, debarked to man height, many have already fallen. The alders in the floodplain also die, the water is too high for them.
You can find beautiful, but you don't have to ...
Apart from that, the lower Black Valley is definitely worth seeing. And the zoo anyway, maybe just not necessarily in C times ...

The car had to be serviced - and I was on the move ...
Along Seddinsee and Großer Krampe, then through the Müggelheim forest, sun and birdsong, plus a renatured moor, what more could you want!

Today, inspired by family history (which relates to Reinsberg) through the beautiful valley of the Bobritzsch above Schloss Reinsberg. A hike on the Saxon Waalweg - the grave tour.

A varied little combination tour ... First comfortably on the old towpath (now almost entirely paved) along the Finow Canal - after all the oldest artificial waterway north of the Alps - through 250 years of Prussian industrial history. The old and the new (almost finished) ship lift are always impressive. In the second part of the tour there was also a bit of species-appropriate keeping for the MTB in the woods north of the Oder-Havel Canal (NSG Plagefenn). Relaxed rolling out on the dike of the canal, which is still covered with ice floes ...

A week ago through the deep snow ... What a contrast. The sun does what it can. Only quite muddy on some forest paths, otherwise the finest spring feeling!

Oderbruch again - with wonderful winter weather! But it wasn't cold long enough for ice on the Oder.
Let's hope that the theater on the edge can open again soon. And soon there will be a new highlight - by the end of the year, the old Bienenwerder railway bridge is to be restored and opened for pedestrian and bicycle traffic to Poland. Look mer ma!
