Walk around Bradgate Park
Very interesting and large park. Amazing trees and some fun ruins. The deer are beautiful to look at and so close by. Some interesting geology that I’ll have to read about as well.

Burnham Beeches
Apparently when I was about 10 yrs old I ran a cross country race in the Beeches. I dont really remember it but it was nice to ride the bike on roads where I had only been driven before, when I was small.

To Siena to ride up via Santa Catarina
A cracking, direct route to Siena, at the end of which, I rode up the classic via Santa Catarina. I could have gone alot harder on it - I think I was surprised how short it was. It does make me want to do the Gran Fondo next year...

This is such a beautiful area to ride. And cooler than Firenze, as well.
I took the train from Rifredi to Pistoia, and then back to SMN. Brilliant.
The climbs were tough but manageable, the descents fun. Especially the farm tractors!
Long day, but I’m glad I did it and…
