The spice is often short. It was the same with the Fuchsenhof route. At the beginning it's quite bland on asphalt, but THEN: really great MTB route with everything your heart desires. Single trails, roots big and small, steep up and down. Downhill runs, panorama like in the home film. And that on a weak 20 kilometers.
And finally, a delicious coffee with a dessert in the Cafe Frühwirt.
Dafür there is for it. Scratches very close to 5 stars 😉

K&K loop back from Goisern via Obertraun, Bad Aussee and Bad Ischl. Unfortunately the last part of Lake Hallstatt's east bank was closed (demolition work) and we had to take the ship to Hallstatt. Continue on the Koppenpass road to Bad Aussee. Via the Blaa Alm and the Rettenbach valley to Bad Ischl. There we were made aware by the friendly police that cycling against the one way is also prohibited for cyclists! Something like that too !! 😉
The next, but also unpunished offense, we committed by driving the brine route to Goisern. But we would have liked to pay for it. Great way!

Our hike to the highest point in the southern Waldviertel begins just outside of Laimbach am Ostrong. Initially on beautiful forest roads, a path leads us a little steeper uphill to a fork in the road. Here we take the heavier variant. It is almost now uphill through the forest and over blocked terrain to a larger flat area. Please choose the right path here. Because of the view!
We followed the unmarked Steigerl. Surefootedness required! We reached the summit region at the new Naturfreunde refuge. A short path leads us to the summit cross on the small Peilstein. Magnificent distant view !!
And as life often plays, we meet at the summit on the Lois, which has rented a hut and invites us there spontaneously.
We hike over the large Peilstein summit to the Lindegg hut from the Lois. Naturefriends veteran from Altenmarkt, who has created a little paradise here.

Despite the "Sabine" we dared the moor circular walk at the Rubner pond. Light snow lane ;-) on the hiking trail, no chains on hiking shoes, but winter profile on the soles was announced. The water in the bog was sometimes higher than normal, but no problem thanks to Goretex. The observation tower was visited only briefly, ice-cold wind spoiled a longer stay up there. The highlight was once again the rock formation towards the end of the round. There you go, then a gentle slope and granite blocks pile up out of nowhere. As if shaken by a giant hand. From up there you have a wonderful all-round view, if only the wind hadn't been there. So we very soon left the rock formations, ended the round and drove on to the Waldviertler inn in Langschlag, where we dined splendidly.
