About Mucker69
Now back on the singletrack on my 15+ year old Stumpjumper hardtail, updated with current day components and rigid Pace RC31 forks, it’s an ultralight, XC racer that’s turned me into a bit of an addict for South Downs.
My immediate goal is to complete the SDW in a day, raising as much support for Amaze (Brighton) as possible, to repay them for all the support they’ve given my two autistic sons. If you have a little spare cash, please feel free to donate.
Go well!👍🏻

Spent a day being coached by Tony Doyle (ukbikeskills.co.uk/about-2) in an attempt to exorcise the 'Dead Sailor' from my mind and bring to the fore the 13yr old me still deep inside on my Kuwahara Nova.
Definitely a worthwile exercise although the humid 27°C energy sapping heat & humidity took it's toll

Stopped off at The Chase on the way up to Ard Rock for a lap of The Monkey to test out and get used to my friend’s Orbea Wild in readiness for Marshalling duties in the Yorkshire Dales.

An early start to get ahead of the forecast +30°C for that day. Mind you, by 8am it was already 24°! It obviously got to me as when starting the ‘last’ run down Malcolm Brenner, I was all over the place on the first jump colliding left temple & shoulder first into a tree, breaking the left brake lever in the process. Funny how you can always tell how bad a tumble was by the reaction of the rider behind who saw the whole thing happen.😱 After the world stopped turning, I limped home, severely shaken but not stirred, admiring the colourful bruises come and go as the week went on. Anyone have a spare left XT M8000 brake lever knocking around?🙏🏻
